FCA confirm new regulation of second charge mortgages

The European Mortgage Credit Directive came into UK law on 21 March 2016. This affects the owning and/or administration of certain types of Shared Equity Mortgages and other second charge loans.

HMS institutional client funds grow

In February 2016 HMS was mandated by PMM Advisers, a specialist real estate asset manager, to administer the Barratt loan portfolio of approximately 6,000 loans. This brings the total of Shared Equity Mortgages serviced by HMS on behalf of institutional clients to over 11,000.

HMS announces new third-party clients

In the last 18 months HMS has taken over the administration of a number of portfolios of shared equity mortgages owned by housebuilders. Prominent names include the following; Cyden Homes, Prospect (GB), William Davis and Macbryde Homes. HMS now manages 40 portfolios containing over 13,000 loans on behalf of 5 institutional clients and 17 house builders.
